FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about pricing, supported devices, and safe use.
ClearSense Audio is not a hearing aid or medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent hearing loss or any disease.
Can ClearSense Audio replace a hearing aid?
No. ClearSense Audio is not a medical device and cannot replace a hearing aid. It is an app that helps you hear the other person's voice more clearly in noisy environments. If you have any concerns about your hearing, please consult a professional.
How much does ClearSense Audio cost? Is it free?
The download is free. ClearSense Audio is free during the initial launch period, and new users get a 30-day free trial. After that, it will move to a monthly or annual subscription. Payment and refunds follow the App Store and Google Play policies.
Which devices does it support?
ClearSense Audio supports iOS 17 and later — iPhone, iPad, Mac with M1 or newer, and Vision Pro — as well as Android (com.mpwav.clearsenseaudio). It is available in English, Korean, and Japanese. There's no new device to buy: your existing earphones and smartphone are all you need.
How do I use it safely?
ClearSense Audio lowers surrounding noise so that speech stands out. Because of that, do not use it while driving, cycling, or walking where vehicles pass — any situation where you need to stay aware of your surroundings. Turn it off whenever you need to hear what is happening around you.
In what situations does it help?
Even people who hear well miss speech in cafes or busy venues. In those settings, ClearSense Audio selectively reduces background noise and makes the speaker's voice stand out. It is useful for conversations in restaurants, cafes, meeting rooms, and outdoor events where background noise is high.
How does ClearSense Audio work?
Turning everything up makes the noise louder too. Instead of amplifying everything, ClearSense Audio selectively reduces surrounding noise and enhances speech so that only the person's voice stands out. It offers band-by-band amplification and one-touch operation, and is built on more than 25 years of speech signal processing research by the Sogang University research team.
How has ClearSense Audio been validated?
ClearSense Audio won two category awards at the CES 2024 Innovation Awards. It holds NET (New Excellent Technology) certification (2025) and Innovative Procurement Product designation by the Korean government (2026), and won the Grand Prize at the 2025 Korea AI Innovative Procurement competition.
